In a large saucepan, combine washed rice and water in a 1:1.5 water-to-rice ratio. Bring to a boil over high heat, then lower to medium heat and continue to simmer. Cook for 15 minutes, covered. Remove from heat and set aside for 10 minutes, covered, before gently fluffing with a spoon.
